hey folks,i haven't updated in a while and i wanted to give ya'll an update on why.... well, things haven't been too great in my end of the world.the infection in my throat hasn't gone away, today i went to the hospital for the 3rd time, to deal with what's going on with my throat...the infection's moved into my jaw and the swelling is so bad, i cant open my mouth more then an inch. i haven't slept or eaten properly in weeks...i get to try out a new 4th antibiotic, and tomorrow i get to go to an ENT specialist to see if i'll need to get my throat and jaw drained!! yeah!
i have 4 or 5 pages in the works, but...with that going on with my throat and the burden of x-mas shopping on top of it, it's been very difficult to find motivation to finish anything...

so, please be patient... the bean men will return very soon, and i should have a few surprises too.

as you can see i've updated the bean men logo (or the header, depending on which circles you like to run with)
the bean men have evolved quite a bit for a comic that's only been around for 9 months. when i first started drawing them they didn't have any toes, and now their heads are larger in proportion to their bodies then they used to be.
as much as i love the original drawing (its hanging on the wall in my living room)....the truth is, it was done hastily in my pursuit to get the strip up and goin' online.

BEAN MEN STEP OUT OF THE COMPETITON

well folks, you may have noticed the lack of updates for the last few days. the reason for this is because i'm super sick right now, some sorta viral thing in my throat. believe me it hasn't been pretty.

apparently someone has found a way to cheat votes in the bean men's behalf, for the webcomic idol competition. so, i have decided to remove the bean men from the running. i have no interest in gaining a reputation as a cheater....nor do i have any interest in scolding one of my readers for doing it...i'm very flattered someone would take the time to go all out for my strip. but, cheating's just not my style.

so, i'd like to thank the guys over at bombshelter for the opportunity, and good luck to the rest of the finalists!

the competition gets harder each week, now that they have us take on 'webcomic challenges'. the bean men easily passed the first challenge of having at least one of our characters be 'in the nude'.
the next challenge...'have a character play with a donut and a banana', may prove to be too much for some of the contestants.

many of the finalist have begun to crack...insults seem to be flying everywhere. it's really a shame to see the whole thing get to this point....but if the competition can get past the sex scandal that rocked the first week of the contest, then i'm sure it can deal with the name calling.
